My first experience in art was painting pictures of flowers I found in seed catalogs; I would lay a salvaged window pane on the picture and paint it with watercolor. In grade school, I copied pictures from the encyclopedia using only a pencil and I liked to draw ladies in their ornate dresses from the Louis the 14th era. Throughout my life I continued to pursue artistic endeavors whether it be floral arranging, decorating my home, or creating beautifully decorated Christmas trees.
After retiring from a long career in commercial insurance, I found time to take a few classes at the Bemis Art School. These classes reignited my passion for painting and I have been painting ever since! I paint images that I find beautiful, interesting, and that make me happy. My hope is that others feel the same when they view my artwork.
As an active member in the Colorado Springs arts community I participate in several organizations including: The Pikes Peak Watercolor Society, The High Plains Artists, and The International Music Syndicate studio.
I take pride that my artwork has reached so many people including friends and family members. Jackson and Almeda Berkey who are the co-founders of the musical group, Mannheim Steamroller, own two of my paintings.
